Children’s working in mines and quarries is one of the worst forms of child labor. They work in the environment which is contaminated with heavy metals. Children as young as five years can be seen digging in mines.



They are always at the risk of serious injury and deadly diseases. Around one million children in the Third World work in mines. Poverty thrust these children to work in mines and quarries, as in many cases they are able to earn the satisfactory amount of income. These children can only be removed from working in mines, if an alternate source of income could be provided to their families.
