According to a senior official of the United Nations, more than 250,000 child soldiers all over the world are trapped in the conflicting ongoing wars. Girl soldiers are the worst sufferer with 10 in 1000 sexually abused by the adult combatants. They are often subjected to torturous sexual violence and many times, they are even raped.

Fast-forwarding the record three years ago, nearly 14 million of the children are either displaced and somewhere around 8,000 to 10,000 of them are ‘brutally killed or maimed by the land mines’.

Undersecretary General Radhika Coomaraswamy recently reported to United nNations Security General that children in war-afflicted regions such as Sierra Leone, Liberia, Congo, and Burundi are safe, with the situations steadily coming under control.

Nevertheless, what about those vulnerable children of the Middle Eastern region, they are still suffering from inhuman atrocities meted out on them.

Factual data of children victims of war since 1996:

-Ten in thousand girls are molested and raped

-2 million children killed in armed conflict

-6 million children are left behind physically challenged by war

-12 million children without any shelter
