There are around 30,000 street children in Moscow, majority of which are either drug addict or are infected from HIV positive. Similarly, in Nigeria there are around 6,000 children who are imprisoned for stealing food and loitering in the streets. In Afghanistan 54 percent of the children suffer from severe malnutrition.
UNICEF revealed that there are millions of ‘invisible’ children who are not given any attention either by the people or by the state. It also stated that due to wars, repressive governments, utter poverty, religious, ethnic and gender discrimination many of the children do not have birth registration and thus have no identity of their own in this world. It is because of this these children do not have access to the aid facilities provided by the government.
