Around 365 children’s in Araguatins have totally gone blind as revealed by the Disease Control Agency of Tocantins. But the disease has not yet been identified.



Perciliana Bezerra, the coordinator of the agency said that they are considering every possibility to find out what kind of disease it is. However they have indicated that the disease is affecting only the children’s who are staying in Araguatins and so it definitely has something to do with the Araguaia River.



An order is thereby released by the health officials to prevent anyone from taking bath or have a swim in the river. There is a probability that a local snail is transmitting the disease which has blinded such a huge number of children’s.
