According to the report submitted by the Israel police to the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee, minors are the major victims in more then 50 percent of the sexual offences committed in Israel each year.

The committee is discussing to pass a bill so as to protect the public from the sexaukl offenders. In the past decade it has been found that 4,400 to 6,000 sexual crimes occur every year, of which in around 15 percent of the cases perpetrator is no other then the relative of the victim.

Emphasizing on the importance of the quick approval of the bill, Dr. Yitzhak Kadman, the head of the National Council for the Child, said that “Every day that passes without a law endangers hundreds and thousands of children, who are easy prey for deviants and sexual predators.”
