The authorities responsible for the vaccination in the quake hit areas of the Pakistan told that since October 8, around 700,000 children have been vaccinated against measles, polio, tetanus, typhoid, cholera and other various other diseases.
The Federal and Provincial health authorities, UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO), together have sent around 270 mobile teams to protect the children.
A spokesman from the Health Ministry revealed that to avert measles outbreak the children up to the age of 15 were being vaccinated by the mobile teams. He also added that the vitamin- A drops were also being given to the children from 6 months to 5 years of age.
