It was a fatal ‘black day’ for the land of Bollywood ‘Mumbai’, when seven blasts within 11 minutes turned the lives of nearly 200 families into a nightmare. The attacks suspected to be carried out by the terrorist groups Lashkar-e-taiba and Simi was meant for the filthy rich class of people but unfortunately, it killed the street kids whose only means of shelter was the railway platforms.
Timesonline report:
14-year-old Pappu and few of his friends were playing cards, trying to relax for a while after having a tough time finding ways to earn money for their daily needs. Never in the wildest of dreams did they know that this single incident was going to change their life forever, killing few of them.
The moment came with the 18.26 western line train arriving at the Mahim station and within a fraction, a blast was heard in the AC compartment: the poor kids did not have time to think that they need to run. Malik, one of the unfortunate boys was hit straight by the glasses and he died instantly.
There were many like those kids who lost their lives but those who have survived the blast goes unheard as there is no one who is coming forward to take care of them. There were 30 more children present on that fateful day in the platform, but who will bother to know their whereabouts.

Hi Kaushik,
You just echoed the same sentiments that had been buzzing in my mind. I mean, the celebrities and the business tycoons should certainly help in rehabilitating the poor victims rather than spending crores on non-existstent SRD projects.
i agree that the corporates should come up. but what about the bmc. it should take active participation with the corporates and rehabilitate the street children living in the platforms and other places... its time started valueing life rather than money after all we should think what future we have
sunil pai a tattoo artist from mumbai had very closely seen the 7/11 mumbai blast victims version,it was then when one of the victims son was in the way of tattooing himself in his chest (heart)in the name of his dad ,lost in mumbai blast, as a tribute ,the tattoo made was glorified by sunil pai, while tattooing the only thing was the feel of immense pain of victims, though it is the spirit of mumbaities that they have the courage for tributing such a thing which is always memorable, for sunil as a tattoo artist it was his participation for tribute to all victims & also the thing turned more immortional when it was tattooed (MISS U DAD) above tattoo ,hence this way of tributing beloved ones is the fantasy to remember them & having a feel ,that they are always along with us.
firstly, the first class compartment is NOT MEANT FOR FILTHY RICH PEOPLE( FRP). FRPs usually travel in CARS.Secondly, there are NO AC compartments in a local train.
PLease verify your details before you post them.
It is indeed very unfortunate that many street children have perished in this attack and i strongly feel that an NGO must step in to not only provide shelter but emotional support and rehabilitation to these children. But i also think that the public, the common man should do his bit by providing for these children. for eg, a very small portion of his salary, blankets etc. just something to give hope to these children.
