Researches have proved it time and again the maturity level of boys and girls in the same age is hugely different. While a girl seems to mature at a very tender age, a boy takes time in comprehending the emotional side of life.
The functioning of the brain too is similarly different between a boy of seven year and a girl of the same age. In a recent survey it has come up that the boys in the primary schools are facing great challenges in comparison to the female sex. As said by Dr Elizabeth Morris, the principal of the School of Emotional Literacy, unlike girls, boys love to get associated with things that has a purpose and he indulges himself more in practical things rather than talks about relationships and stuff. Whereas a girl is more open to discussion and talks, group works, team building and other related activities.
Now, the question here is why boys require extra care and help in primary school? Apparently, nearly a major chunk of the teachers in the school are women and hence the style of teaching is more in sync with the thought process of the girl students rather than the boys. The modus operandi of the teachers being friendlier to the girls the boys are lagging behind.
The only way to cover up this widening gap is to work out a strategic teaching method for the boys who are more of a kin-aesthetic learners, unlike the girls who show a heavy inclination towards auditory and visual capability.
The teachers should be capable enough to figure it out, what will be a more effective way of imparting knowledge to the boys and for that they need to take an extra step of identifying the things, which are proving difficult for the boys.
