Large population of Asia is the biggest reason behind the large number of orphans. In 2001, an estimated 65 million children were declared as orphans, of which 2 million were AIDS orphan.
Though African countries are the most severely AIDS affected countries, yet HIV/AIDS cases are more in number in the Asian countries because of the prevalence of huge population.
