Entitled ‘Nourish for Knowledge‘, is a well organized program developed and is actively carried out by the Chicago Public schools and Greater Chicago Food Depository.
In a process to keep the school students in a good health condition, they are providing sacks of food to the children’s when they push off to home during the weekends.
As per a study conducted revealed that due to the lack of proper nourishment children’s are not performing well in the schools, so the school officials in Chicago are trying to make it a pertinent point that none of the students has to starve.
The program is already in vogue in 16 of the low-income areas. The figure of the students who is availing this benefit is now around 2,460. Hopefully the number will be more with adequate funding from higher sources.
