Child abuse is a very major problem of Comoros islands. According to the study of UNICEF, children are not only exposed to physical and psychological violence, but many of them are sexually abused.
UNICEF interviewed around 142 victims, more then half of the interviewed children aged between 14 and 16, were victims of sexual assault. Around six percent of the victims under 13 had been raped. But much surprising is that most of the cases took place at home, involving family members.
