In Egypt, girls as young as seven get married to older men. Once married they never attend school. These young brides have to satisfy the sexual demands of their spouses. They mostly get pregnant in the very first year of their marriage. Since their bodies are not fully grown up to bear the load of pregnancy, they are at a risk of complications during and after pregnancy.



Child marriage is a violation of human rights. It compels a child to bear responsibilities for which they are not physically or psychologically prepared.
