Under the disguise of child marriage, many under-aged boys and girls are married off in many parts of India. Almost one-third of these child-brides are forcefully wedded off to men literally old enough to be their father.



In spite of the legal announcements made by the Supreme Court, there are many cases which hardly enter into the register logs.



India is a country largely facing poverty, where the common mass hardly has money to buy itself two meals a day. This is precisely the reason why many parents from the poor class gets their girls married in return more money.



Although the Indian Government says that the economy is fast improving and the IT sector is booming the rural parts of India have hardly changed.



The same age-old beliefs and cultural practices are carried on. How can the UPA government celebrate their two year anniversary with such glitter when their countries future generation is being sold off for meager amount of money?
