Despite a high-level committee set up by the Myanmar government to crack down the recruitment of child soldiers by the armed forces, not much progress seems to be happening.
Children’s Rights Division, a Human Rights watch dog based in New York, puts the much-debated matter forth to everyone. The report further states, almost 20 percent of the soldiers in the Myanmar army are minor who are barely 11 years old.
Jo Becker, the advocacy director for this organization says that the government has surely failed in ensuring the rights of the children and the so-called ‘high-level’ hawks are not having any impact on the continuous exploitation of child.
