It’s almost two years that the entire Ethiopian region is facing the deadly droughts and now to add to the pile of already never-ending crisis one more danger has broken out amongst the children.
Most of the children’s are affected by the deadly diseases like diarrhea, malaria due to the drinking of water from the dirty pools that got stagnant during the short showers in those drought caught areas.
Malnutrition is one of the major problems that is springing up everywhere and the death of the livestock’s is rising alarmingly. These dead animals which are washed away by the rain water are not only polluting the surroundings but largely the watery terrains.
Somewhere above 56,000 children aged below 5 years are among the most exposed ones to the malnutrition disorders. Many have even died due to measles, diarrhoeal diseases and malnutrition.
A campaign is launched by UNICEF Ethiopia along with some of the local NGO’s and Ethiopia’s regional health authorities to help the disease affected communities.
A group of Californian students has already collected an amount of US$1,500 to help the poor children’s. If everyone comes forward just like the school kids, definitely some good will come of it.
