Most of the Namibian children are living a life with no access to basic needs. Even the prospect of leading a prosperous life by the time they will reach adulthood till 2030 also looks very rare.
Shrouded with ‘triple threat’ of HIV/AIDS, food insecurity, poor capacity of social and economic services and no nurturing environment for human development. These children not like the rest of the world’s children do not have access to social support structure.
Rushna Murtaza, Unicef’s Acting Representative in Namibia, said , “The increased vulnerability due to the HIV-AIDS disease compounded with situations of marginalization of some communities like the San, violence and abuse of girls and women are some of the most immediate and serious threats in terms of exclusion of children in Namibia.”
