‘It’s better to die of AIDS than hunger’, says Tanya, a sex worker. She was just ten when her parents died of AIDS. Her sister who is also a sex worker is suffering from the sexually transmitted disease. The streets of Harare are their home. Tanya wants to join school again and wants to learn English.
Tanya is not one but there are many more like her. Hunger has led many street children to the sex business. This is something really very alarming. Children living in the street are subjected to sexual abuse. Most of the girls get raped and many get infected to AIDS. Something really has to be done regarding it before its get too late.
