CHILD OFFENDERS

Illinois Woman Charged for Fraud Adoption Promises

Saturday Feb 18 2006, 6:49am PDT - Himadree

A woman in Illinois is charged with two felony theft cases for making a fool out of a soon-to-be adoptive mother and an adoption agency in Chicago.

Melissa Sparks of Caseyville promised to give both the parties her unborn child in return for heavy gifts and monetary benefits.

The woman took more than $4,000 from the Indiana mother and Family Resource Center Adoption Agency as well. But the Illinois woman didnít keep her promise even after she gave birth to the baby in the month of December.
