More than 5,000 child soldiers are said to be held by the LTTE leaders in the combat groups. A tip from the human rights group says that the rebel groups are increasingly kidnapping children from schools and training them to perform activities as suicide bombers.
Due to the frequent conflict between the Sri Lankan Security Forces and the LTTE, the recruitment of child soldiers is gaining an unprecedented speed. However, due to the defeats in the hands of the security forces, many members of the rebel groups have left the banned outfit and are appealing the government to provide them with direct security.
Despite, many efforts from the government to rehabilitate the child combatants, the rebel groups are not handing them over to the government and therefore maximum of them are being killed during the attacks.
