The saga of Madeleine McCann has again resurrected but with all together different twist. The official authorities, have formally declared a suspect, who? Well, the suspect is Kate McCann, her mother!
She has come under the eyes of suspicion after the authorities discovered forensic evidence from the holiday apartment where four-year-old Madeleine vanished on May 3.
From the time of the little girl’s disappearance, her parents have persistently campaigned to draw attention to the case and won overwhelming sympathy in and around Europe. Their efforts led to a meeting with Pope Benedict in Rome who blessed a picture of their daughter.
Police interrogated both of them, Kate and Gerry McCann, individually. And according to the Portuguese law, suspecting an individual does not necessarily mean that the same would be involving in crime, hence, she too would not be detained rather, she would not be allowed to leave the nation and would be under legal protection.
Mr McCann’s alleged role is not clear but sources said police believe he was an accessory to the killing. However, Family and friends of the McCanns has dismissed the suggestion as ridiculous.
As could one expect, this unexpected turn in the Madeleine saga have given a red signal to the McCanns’ who were preparing to drift back to their home in Rothley, Leicestershire.
