Scotsman reports confirms that it is almost over one year now that even after a Scottish Executive had reportedly said about a very essential service to fight child abuse has been placed accordingly the ministers have not yet made the child protection hotline functional.
This shows clearly that they are hardly interested in fighting the cause but merely delivering speeches one after the other so as to gain the appreciation of the voter’s to increase their vote banks.
A commitment was made to launch a 24 hour hotline for the abused child but the executive now says that the plan is still under consideration.
According to an Executive spokeswoman, the ministry will soon decide on the hotline plan. She further said that non-materializing of the plan doesn’t mean that the police and social service organizations are doping nothing from 9am-5pm.
The stall of the plan has led child welfare experts to request the higher authority to launch the hotline immediately.
