According to the NHS, cases of mumps have increased dramatically last year. Around 181 cases of mumps have been registered in year 2003 which increased to 3,595 in 2004. The cases were found mainly in the age group of 15-24 year old.
Temporary figures revealed that 3,774 cases of mumps has come to notice in the first six months of 2005.
