Seven children were killed in an accident today when the school bus of Satkumba Vidya Mandir (Kheri Gujjar cvillage) plunged straight into the Delhi Canal in Sonepat district of Haryana.

The bus was carrying 25 members at the time of accident: the accident took place as the driver was trying to avoid colliding with a mule cart.

According to the Senior Police Superintendent Yogendra Nehra, all the children were in the age group of 10 to 14 years. While eight of them were immediately admitted to the hospital, unfortunately just one survived. However, according to latest report the condition of the survivor is serious.

Fortunately, police have been able to rescue 12 children and have already sent them to their respective homes but five of them are still missing. Despite the rescue operation going on in full swing, due to the high water level it is becoming increasingly to track the missing children.
