According to national organization that fights the sexual exploitation of young people, some crafty Internet predators are hoodwinking teens into generating child pornography.
In some cases, the weird act is performed via internet where these nasty predators permeate teen chatrooms, masquerade around as their friends and persuade them into performing bawdy acts via webcam.
Incase they don’t go ahead with making more sexually explicit photos and videos they blackmail them by threatening to tell their parents or expose their behavior to others.
Lately two such cases have come up where a Canadian girl was hoaxed into making lewd photos for a British man. And a 21 year old man was charged with hacking into the computers of more than 100 girls in Canada and the United Kingdom and swindling them into exposing themselves.
Causes:
This all is the outcome of latest technology. Now nearly all children have an access of cell phones, digital cameras and webcams at an early age. Thus, they tend to become more vulnerable to such predators.
In order to impress their friends or love interests, they tend to click their own photographs in underwear or engage in some sort of sexual activity thus, becoming more susceptible to the vicious cycle of pedophiles who tend to hack their contents.
According to Roz Prober, the President of the organization, Beyond Borders, this sexualization in youth is because of media, advertisements and videos that remove inhibition amongst them about undressing in a provocative way.
She says,
‘The argument is often made that young people today are much more knowledgeable about sex - and I agree - but that doesn’t mean that they are more mature about it. As children are highly sexualized they become easier to prey upon’.
