Michael Wempe, 66 years old retired Roman Catholic Priest is convicted by the jury and would in all probability face a sentence for three years. The priest himself has confessed that he had molested around 13 boys during his service in the 70’s & 80’s. But jury’s verdict came with his latest abuse of a teenager in the 90’s.



A priest who is meant to dedicate his life for the service of god and humanity committing such a crime is too disgusting and a shameful act. One of the boy said that the priest has constantly abused him from the year 1990 till 1995.



Some other boys who had been a victim of Wempe in the past testified in the court and showed how they were sexually assaulted by Wempe. They cried and said that their life is no longer a normal one because while one is into drugs; the other is an alcoholic and school drop out.



Wempe’s lawyer is however defending his client by saying that the boys are just conjuring up things and his client has done no such acts.



When one is abused in the early stage of life the scars never fades and this ultimately results in the abnormal behavior of the child when he grows up as an adult. Such criminals should be severely punished rather than being given short term imprisonment.
