An official decision was recently taken by the Chandigarh administration after some distinguished educationists put forward the suggestion that those students who come from poor families should be given extra advantage: and which will be possible only if seats are reserved exclusively for them.
Finally it is decided now that it is mandatory for all the schools to separately allot 15% of the seats for the poor children’s. The aim behind this step was to do away with any sort of class division between the well-to-do children’s and the downtrodden ones. This decision will further help those economically challenged children’s to opt for the school of their own choice.
The Administration side-by-side also decided to take initiative to improve the quality of education imparted in the Government schools.
