Recently in British Columbia a survey was conducted on around 30,000 sawmill workers for over 15 years reveled that since they as a parent are all the time weighed down with heavy work load their children’s were all the more vulnerable to commit suicide.
The study said that stressful job had a direct impact on the psychology of the child which in result led them to end their life.
Out of every 20,000 children, 250 of them either made an attempt or killed themselves every year: 1985-2001. The ratio of girls was two-thirds while those of the boys attempting suicide were Three-quarters. The reason behind the impact being more forceful on the boys because they are normally more introverts than the girls and don’t share their feelings.
This is the first kind of research carried out by the University of British Columbia as said in the journal, Public Health.
The study further unveiled that since the father is all stressed out and come back home but doesn’t behave normally this has an adverse effect on the child.
