According to the study made by the National Child Rights Observation Group (NACROG), most of the children’s in Liberia is often sold out for adoption and the rest has to live in the low-maintenance Orphanages.

In the light of this matter NACROG has urged the government to stop all kind of adoption procedures as there are many social institutions which in the name of child care is demanding hefty sum.

The organizations representatives have also asked the government to set enquiry on three of the suspected orphanages under the law that they are heavily into child trafficking.

Jerolinmek Piah, head for NACROG said that the adoption organizations are not helping these orphans but are disgustingly involved in the business of child trafficking in return for large bucks.

Although accusations have been made against the three orphanages, the administrators who run those agencies said that the accusation leveled is not one bit true. They are government approved agencies and the process that they follow while adopting a child is approved by the government.

However the Liberian government is greatly concerned with the recent developments and stated that some of the Orphanages might be closed down.
