In Gujarat (India), large numbers of school teachers from the entire state pledged to combat against the killing of the female foeticide, which has become a major cause of concern for the state.

In recent years the cultural practice has grown so fast the ratio of the girls in comparison to boys itself is humiliatingly low. There are just 878 girls in contrast with 1000 boys.

The vow was taken at a convention held by the Higher Secondary teachers, under the direction of the state’s Education Minister, Anandiben Patel.

The teachers will see to it that they dismantle the very root of female foeticide and in order to do so they have planned to track down all the doctors who are involved in assisting the parents in this act.
