UNICEF while issuing its one year recovery efforts in countries affected by Tsunami has declared 2005 as an ‘year of emergencies’ for children. The year followed by natural disasters, food crisis and conflicts has torn apart the fabrics of life for millions of children.
The single year has brought with itself several humanitarian problems, ranging from tsunami to conflict zone of Darfur, from nutrition problem in Niger and Malawi to crop failure in Ethiopia and Eritrea, from Atlantic hurricane season to deadly earthquake in Pakistan.
Though with the hard efforts of UNICEF, children are largely back to school, but yet this is just a beginning and still much more is left to be done.
