An outspoken man by nature, Aneel Ahmad was so taken in by the sad story of the street children that he decided to make one on the Pakistani Street Children.
Titled ‘Waiting For Sunrise‘ Aneel have captured the extremely downtrodden life of those street kids in Pakistan’s slum areas and red light lanes. These children are alone in this world, they are not lucky enough to say those two golden words, ‘mother’ and ‘father’ unlike the other privileged ones.
Every day they face physical and verbal abuse while they stray along the street corners looking for some wealthy people to help them with some money.
Aneel’s movie deals with the underprivileged kids of Lahore, child labor. He further highlights how poverty and social division affects the children and their surroundings.
The movie has already won the prestigious UNICEF Award and short listed for the honorary Grierson Award.
