The implementation of the second stage of the child labor in Yemen is in full swing now. The project aims to uproot the entire mechanism of child labor forever. And for this noble cause the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Yemen has recently put into operation the next phase of the combat plan.



As told by child labor director, Muna Salem, in this phase focus will be to get the children back in school and offer them vocational program to train working children in the age group of 14 to 18 years.



Many short term programs will be given to the children’s, like commerce and car maintenance workshops etc. The children’s will also be handed over a professional certificate by the end of their courses.



As for the girls, they will be offered professional training which includes sewing, hairdressing and other daily household chores.



Mr. Salem also said that this project is a joint venture of the UNICEF, the ILO and the World Bank as well.
