The semi-autonomous island of Tanzania, Zanzibar is currently facing a problem of children increasingly dropping out from schools, says a government minister.
An estimated 8,881 children have stopped going to school and working as child labours. The situation has become perennial in the districts of Unguja and Pemba.
Despite the fact that most of the labour law had been made rigid, keeping in mind the future of the children, many cases of child abuse in the labour market has recently rocked this island.
The parents are responsible for this persisting crisis, as they withdraw their child from school and send them to work in the fishing trade and clove picking business.
